Rosenwald Child Development Laboratory School
The primary mission of the Rosenwald Child Development Laboratory School is to provide laboratory experiences for college students enrolled in Child Development and the Division of Applied Human Sciences. Rosenwald Child Development Laboratory School's mission is accomplished by providing a controlled setting for practicum and observation experiences and by providing professional work experiences to students enrolled at Kentucky State University.
Licensure and Accreditation
Rosenwald Child Development Laboratory School is licensed by the Kentucky Cabinet for Human Resources and accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs and Kentucky Department of Education.
Location and Population
Rosenwald Child Development Laboratory School is located on the campus of Kentucky State University. The school houses five classrooms, an office for the Director, secretary and a cafeteria. The preschool population consists of over 90 children ranging four weeks through five years of age. Children attending Rosenwald represent diverse backgrounds and vary in their social, behavioral, physical, and learning abilities.
Rosenwald Child Development Laboratory School Staff and Program Director
A Director, administering and operating Rosenwald within the guidelines of the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs; handling all matters related to the administration of Rosenwald within the Fiscal budget; supervising teaching staff and university work-study students; implementing high quality developmentally appropriate programs to children enrolled; planning and implementing professional development activities for staff; and maintaining a liaison with appropriate community, state, and national representatives/organizations.
